What is Anodising ?
Anodising is the natural coating process for aluminium, anodising merely makes the already naturally occurring oxide layer thicker, harder and more corrosion resistant. This is achieved by an electrochemical process that imparts a unique lustrous metallic looking film that has a timeless appearance.
Anodising has stood the test of time, since it first became commercially viable in the 1950s, anodising has become an important part of many industries. In New Zealand there are many commercial buildings in the central CBD areas with aluminium curtain wall and window systems twenty or thirty years old built in New Zealand’s harsh coastal areas. These buildings stand in proud testimony to the tough durability of an anodised surface.
